Loxion Motorshow is at it again, bringing motoring to people of Durban through the first of its kind Ethekwini Motor Festival. In the company’s 5th installment, since 2012, Loxion Motorshow has adopted a winning formula and has shared it with the community at large. It is with a heavy heart that we return to Durban without one of our Directors, Gugu Zulu who sadly passed away on the 18th July 2016. Heading up the operations, Nana Zulu added, the departing of Gugu Zulu with whom I started Loxion Motorshow was very unexpected and unbelievable. Yes death is never expected but in his case we were just still busy running the race of life and suddenly he’s gone. He had great dreams for Loxion Motorshow, which we will still continue because he still lives in the heart of the company.” At the event, there’ll be the launch of the Gugu Zulu Foundation.

Having started eight years ago, Loxion Motorshow’s aim was to bring motoring to the people and this has been achieved successfully from 2008 to current with great support from local motor dealers and car fanatics. Not only has Loxion Motorshow focused on Exhibitions, but the dynamic team has taken motorsports to the people having taken National Go Karting to Maponya Mall Soweto, Motard to Boardwalk Inkwazi Mall Richardsbay and Gymkhana/Spinning to Umlazi Mega City Durban, Show n Shine Sound Off to Savannah Mall Polokwane, just to name a few. This was Gugu’s dream to broaden motorsports opportunities to a wider audience and through Loxion Motorshow, his legacy shall live on.

The team is highly trained, equipped and resourced to see this dream to its peak. Loxion Motorshow has grown from strength to strength and not only have we added great entertainment to the menu, but we have managed to secure the most desirable venues. No local motorsports team has ever managed to utilize the inside of Moses Mabhida Stadium except for Top Gear which is an international company. We are greatly excited that Moses Mabhida Stadium has open up its doors to the Ethekwnin Motor Festival with the support of Ethekwini Municipality and Durban Tourism. South Africans have their own car culture which reflects our African heritage and through the Ethekwini Motor Festival, this culture will be showcased and skills will be developed. Loxion Motorshow has always enjoyed great partnerships and support from the people of Durban and we believe that the Ethekwini Motor Festival will not be any different. The event is not just another motor gathering but it seeks to promote and profile participants, promote business engagement, increase local tourism and develop motoring skill and talent. Our Driftkhana will have new obstacles with built up challenges that have never been seen before. The aim is to showcase real abilities and promote defensive driving and car control.

Our event team consists of the greatest minds in motorsports in Kwazulu/Natal, such as Reece Williamson in Gymkhana/Drifting, Amadlelandawonye Association and Clive Pillay in Motorbike, Rahim Mahomed in Show n Shine and Somers in Sound Off. Tickets are available at Computicket for the two day event. The greatest spinners, drifters, bikers and all models of cars will be on display from customized, classic and exotic cars. The taxi Fashion show will the best taxi’s from all regions in Durban, show casing their beauty and ability.

Over and above this, the Loxion Motorshow will once again host a number of dealerships should you be looking to buy a new car.
